Make the purpose clear. Before your child uses AI for anything school-related, have a direct conversation: "AI is a tool to help you think, not a tool to think for you." Spell out what that means in practice.
Distinguish between subjects. A child using AI to understand a difficult math concept is very different from a child using AI to write their English essay. Different subjects warrant different rules.
